how to open airdrop on iphone
Here's how to open AirDrop on an iPhone:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open Control Center.
- Look for the "AirDrop" icon in the row of buttons (it looks like a blue and white square with a triangle pointing up).
- If AirDrop is turned off, you'll see one of three options when you tap the AirDrop icon: "Receiving Off", "Contacts Only", or "Everyone". Choose the option you want by tapping on it. Here's what each option means:
- Receiving Off: This turns off AirDrop completely.
- Contacts Only: This allows only people in your Contacts list to see and send you files via AirDrop.
- Everyone: This allows anyone with an Apple device nearby to see and send you files via AirDrop.
- If AirDrop is already turned on, you'll see the option you previously selected ("Contacts Only" or "Everyone") when you tap the AirDrop icon.
Once you've selected the AirDrop option you want, you can start using it to send or receive files from other Apple devices that are nearby. To do this, simply open the file you want to share (e.g. a photo or document) and tap the Share icon. You should see an AirDrop option in the list of sharing options. Tap on AirDrop, and then choose the person you want to share the file with from the list of nearby Apple devices that appear.
Note that both devices must have AirDrop turned on and be within Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range of each other in order for the file transfer to work. Also, be aware that AirDrop only works between Apple devices, so you won't be able to use it to share files with devices from other manufacturers.
